The media surrounds the filter cartridge at the bottom of the aquarium. Over time their honeycomb structure is populated with good bacteria that keep water clean.

Each aquarium is designed with a feed hole built into the top. No need to open the lid to feed your fish.

Helpful Tips for Adding Fish

Note: always consult your local aquatics store to ensure the right fish are gently acclimated to their new home

Adding fish too quickly will cause high ammonia levels, which is harmful to the fish.

This encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria in the ceramic media that helps keep water clean.

Overfeeding and over-populating will harm fish and cause the aquarium water to become polluted.

Basic Routine Maintenance

Consult the biOrb manual for more information on these steps. Maintenance times can change based your choice and quantity of fish species.

Observe fish health and behavior. Check biOrb for algae and debris.

Replace 1/3 of the aquarium water with new water.

Replace the air stone to ensure optimal oxygenation in your biOrb.
